Human Rights & Equalities Charnwood has successful secured funding from Lloyds TSB Foundation for a 2 year project working with South Asian Women.
The project helps women, particularly from the Bangladeshi community to play a fuller role in their environment and take a more active role in society.
The Development Officers are employed on a part-time basis to run the project. Our sincere thanks to the Lloyds TSB Foundation for their generous grant to deliver this important project.
Peter Lewis, Vice-Chair of HR&EC said, “It’s essential that every citizen can participate fully not only in day to day living, but shaping this community with their ideas, hopes and aspirations. Peoples’ equality must never ever be compromised by issues of gender, status or religion in our society Lloyds TSB Foundation recognises this and we’re really delighted to have been thought capable and worthy of support.”
